Biography

Will be looked to for leadership while holding down the everyday second baseman job as a senior.

2007: Missed seven weeks with a broken bone after getting hit by a pitch at Richmond (2/21)...Saw his first action back against Coppin State, playing in all three games while starting two...Started the final two games against Radford, driving in a run in game two with a single, then came up with a two-run single in the second inning of game three...Hit his first double of the season, driving home what proved to be the winning run in a 3-1 win against VCU (4/24).

2006: Played in 43 contests, making 41 starts at second base...Ranked second on the team with 17 steals in 21 attempts...Made only seven errors in 239 chances...Set a new VMI record and tied the Big South’s mark by stealing five bases in five attempts against Richmond (4/12)...Had seven multi-hit games, including three-hit outings against Mercer (2/12) and Radford (4/14).

2005: Led all Keydet freshmen with 39 starts at second base, while seeing action in 45 contests...Hit .295 in 122 at bats while scoring 24 runs...Had three three-hit games, vs. UNCA (3/18), vs. Birmingham-Southern (4/2) and vs. Liberty (5/1)...Ranked second on the team with a .397 on-base percentage and third with a .979 fielding percentage...Eight of nine on stolen base attempts.
Summer: Played in 25 contests for the Petersburg Generals of the Coastal Plain League...Hit .237 with four doubles and six RBI in 59 at bats.

High School: Three-year letterman playing shortstop and second base...Named second team All-District as a shortstop and was selected as the team's most valuable player in 2003...Selected as the school's Gatorade Player-of-the-Year in 2003 when he batted .446 with eight doubles and 15 RBI.
