2014: Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 16th round of the MLB Draft and signed...Second Team All-Big South...finished the year ranked second in the league in opponent batting average, fifth in ERA and 10th in innings pitched...season was highlighted by first regular season no-hitter in Gray-Minor Stadium, a Feb. 21 blanking of Lafayette in VMI's home opener...Garrett was just a 3-2 walk shy of a perfect game in that contest...struck out a career-high 13 in that game...also threw complete games against Longwood and Winthrop...did not allow an earned run over his first three starts of the season...earned conference wins over Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian and CSU. 

2013: One of two Keydets to earn a Big South Pitcher of the Week honor (T.J. Lighton), as he earned his May 13...finished the year 3-8 with a 5.56 ERA...appeared in 18 games, making nine starts...best game of the year was a complete-game shutout of Winthrop on May 11, in which he struck out a career-high nine...started the year as VMI's Friday starter...picked up the win Feb. 23 against Buffalo, striking out eight over six innings...also won April 2 against James Madison, doing so out of the bullpen...moved back into the rotation April 21 against Campbell, allowing three earned runs over six innings.

2012: Freshman moved into a primary setup role late in the year…after March 18, Garrett allowed just three earned runs in 37 1/3 innings (0.72 ERA) while opponents hit just .227…surrendered just 29 hits and struck out 30 during that stretch…of all his outings, none was better than May 11 against CSU, when he faced the minimum in a four-inning save (first career), allowing just one hit and striking out season-high six…picked up his first career win March 3 against Hartford…also won March 24 against Presbyterian...made his first career start 3/13 at ODU...had a string of six straight scoreless outings snapped 4/7 against Winthrop, when he took the loss in a doubleheader opener despite allowing just one unearned run...walked four in four innings in that game, a season-high (walked no more than two in another game this year)...took the loss in collegiate debut 2/18 at then-#2 South Carolina.

High School/Personal: 10-1 as a junior, earned honorable mention All-Colonial District honors…named All-State as an outfielder last season while pitching as well…hit .440 with 19 steals and was named District Player of the Year…Honor Roll student and member of the Beta Club…father played semi-pro ball, and brother pitched for Lynchburg College...son of Bobby and Barb Garrett.
