2011: Posted five saves and a 3.26 ERA…now ranks third on VMI's all-time saves list with 12…struck out nearly a batter per inning, 30 in 30.1 frames…allowed just one earned run over his first eight appearances…threw two scoreless innings Feb. 20 at Florida State…picked up a save in home opener against William & Mary, pitching a shutout inning…saved the series openers against Binghamton (2/25) and Bucknell (3/4)…pitched a perfect 1 1/3 innings to save a win over New Mexico State March 11…struggled in early April, but rebounded with five shutout appearances over his last six outings…that included two shutout innings against JMU (4/26) with four strikeouts…pitched two shutout frames against Longwood May 11 and UNC Asheville (5/15)…picked up his final save of the year May 20 versus High Point.
2010: Led the VMI staff in appearances with 22…held opponents to a .230 average, including .222 versus right-handed hitters…recorded seven saves on the year, as well as a 4-1 record…retired the final 14 batters he faced during the regular season…struck out six batters in 3.2 innings against Winthrop (5/16) earning his fourth win of the year…tabbed Big South Co-Pitcher of the Week April 12, had four saves with nine K's over 7 IP…that included three two-inning saves in a week, culminating with a save against Gardner-Webb (4/9)…in April, allowed no earned runs in 13.1 innings, including holding hitters to a .178 average while striking out 13 and walking none...had a save 4/7 against James Madison…posted back-to-back saves in the first two games at High Point (3/19 and 20) before taking the loss 3/21, in what was just VMI's second loss of the year…picked up his first collegiate win in the series finale against Lafayette (2/28).
Summer: Threw 5.2 innings for the Cape Cod League’s Cotuit Kettleers, posting an ERA of 6.36.
2009: Made 19 appearances on the mound, including four starts, as a freshman…allowed two runs on three hits in his first collegiate start, coming against Old Dominion (2/24), as he struck out five in five innings and took a no decision…also worked in relief against #1 North Carolina (2/20) and against Youngstown State (3/7)…hurled a scoreless 1.1 innings in relief against VCU (4/8)…allowed just an unearned run in 2.2 innings of relief against Gardner-Webb (4/11)…worked four innings in a start against Longwood (4/15), matching his career-best with five strikeouts while allowing four runs…hit .190 with three RBIs while seeing time at first base and designated hitter…hit a pinch-hit, two-run home run against Gardner-Webb (4/10).
Summer: Served as the closer for the Slippery Rock (Pa.) Sliders of the Prospect League…was 1-1 with a 2.59 ERA and nine saves, striking out 36 batters in 24.1 innings…named to the East All-Star squad…also saw time at third base, hitting .204 with 12 RBIs.
High School/Personal: Four-year letterman as a shortstop and pitcher at Springdale…was a First Team All-State honoree as a shortstop…named All-Section four times and All-Area as a senior…also earned All-Star Game MVP accolades…as a pitcher, holds high school records for wins, strikeouts and ERA as a pitcher and home runs and RBIs as a hitter…also a two-year letterman and an Honorable Mention All-Section selection while playing football...son of Bill and Bonnie Devine…father played baseball at Point Park University, helping the team to the NAIA World Series…majoring in economics & business.
