- Tied for third in the Southern Conference with six saves; also ties for seventh in program history for saves in a season
- The SoCon Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 17
- Led the team with 62 strikeouts in just 46 innings; had three wins in 23 appearances, including four starts
- Recorded five outs, four via strikeout, to earn his sixth save on 5/14 vs. ETSU.
- Closed out VMI’s 3-2 win at The Citadel on May 7; 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 Ks to pick up his fifth save
- Had career highs of 5 IP and 10Ks in a start vs. SIUE on April 15 to earn the win: 0 ER, 3H, 2 BB
- Made his first start of the season 3/19 and was impressive to earn the win; 4 IP, 3H, 0BB, 1ER, 5 Ks
- Struck out eight batters in three scoreless innings March 1 vs. Richmond to earn the save
- Earned the save in VMI’s 14-13 win at Mississippi State 2/18
2022: One of the team’s most trusted relievers … ranked second in the Southern Conference with 28 games thrown in relief … struck out 67 batters in 50 2/3 frames … tied for sixth in the conference with three saves … threw 2.2 scoreless and hitless innings with two strikeouts at the SoCon Tournament on May 25 vs. Western Carolina … threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to notch a save 4/14 vs. The Citadel … earned his second save of the week 3/11 vs. Lehigh, 3 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 0 R, 6 Ks … tossed three innings against Penn State 3/8 to earn the save. 3 IP, 1 BB, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 Ks … worked a perfect inning vs. Lafayette on 2/26, striking out two … threw 1 1/3 IP of scoreless relief at #23 Duke on Feb. 20 with two Ks.
Before VMI: A two-year letterman at James River coached by Pete Schumacher … 1st Team All Region as a Junior … had a .350 Batting Average with four homeruns … National Honor Society, World Language Honors Society, Social Studies Honors Society, BETA Club.
Personal: Older brother Aidan Riley graduated from VMI in 2022 and played four years on the lacrosse team...younger brother Owen Riley is a right-handed pitcher on the team.
