Keydets Play Host to UNCG Saturday Afternoon

VMI basketball plays its only home game in a 19-day span on Saturday, when the Keydets take on the UNCG Spartans. Game time is set for 1 p.m., and the game can be seen live and free of charge - with participating provider - on WatchESPN and the ESPN app. In addition, an audio broadcast will be available on 96.7 3WZ in the Lexington area, www.streamthe.net (search WWZW) and via the Tune-In app, with associated feed on VMIKeydets.com, and live stats can be accessed as well.

Last Time Out - at Wofford (1/4/2018):

Wofford reeled off a 12-2 run shortly after the opening tip and never looked back as the Terriers knocked off VMI, 92-53, in Southern Conference basketball action Thursday night - January 4 - at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Junior forward Austin Vereen was one of the bright spots offensively for the Keydets scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds while connecting on four of five beyond the arc. Freshman guard Bubba Parham added 11 points with eight tallied after intermission.

Last Meeting with UNCG (2/25/2017):

UNCG senior center R.J. White scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Spartans held off a VMI challenge and posted a Southern Conference 74-67 win over the Keydets Saturday night, Feb. 25, at Fleming Gym. The Keydets were led in scoring by senior guard QJ Peterson who scored 22 points with 19 coming in the first half. Senior forward Trey Chapman scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds and sophomore guard Adrian Rich added 12 points.

A VMI win against UNCG would:

Be the Keydets’ second win against UNCG since VMI returned to the SoCon for the 2014-15 year.

Move VMI to 5-3 at home on the season.
