A VMI win against Western Carolina would:
Give VMI a season sweep of the WCU series – their first of a SoCon foe this year and first over the Catamounts since the 1998-99 season.
Assure the Keydets a spot in the 8/9 first round game of the SoCon tournament.
Give VMI its first win in Cullowhee since the 2014-15 season.
VMI, Western Carolina and The Citadel all enter Monday’s action with identical 3-14 SoCon records. Here are the tiebreaking scenarios regarding the 8-10 seeds for next week’s SoCon Tournament.
If VMI/The Citadel are tied at 4-14, then higher seed goes to The Citadel (split season series, both would have a win over UTC, but CIT has a win over WOF).
If WCU/The Citadel are tied at 4-14, higher seed goes to WCU via a season sweep.
If VMI/The Citadel are tied at 3-15 then higher seed goes to VMI (split season series, CIT will have lost to UTC twice, VMI has a UTC win).
If WCU/The Citadel are tied at 3-15, then higher seed goes to WCU via a season sweep.
