LEXINGTON, Va. - Men's swimming and diving's Dallas Disbro, along with women's swimming and diving Mackenzie Perkins and Meghan O'Halloran, have been named the VMI Athletes of the Week, for the time period ending Nov. 2.
Disbro posted a score of 290.20 in the 1-meter diving event Saturday against Howard, helping the Keydets go to 5-0 in dual meets to open the year. The score also broke a 19-year-old school record, and was less than 10 points shy of the NCAA qualifying mark of 300.00.
Perkins set a pair of school records in the women's meet Saturday, winning the 100 back (1:01.96) and the 50 free (25.86), while O'Halloran did the same in the 100 (56.30) and 200 free (2:05.18). The two then teamed as part of a record-breaking relay, posting a 1:45.86 in the 200 free relay to close out the day.
The VMI women's swimming and diving squad is back in action Thursday, taking on Hollins University in Roanoke at 7 p.m.2011-12 VMI Athletes of the Week
