LEXINGTON, Va. - Men's swimming and diving's Stephen Lloyd has been named the VMI Athlete of the Week, for the time period ending Oct. 27.
Lloyd was an integral part of Saturday's win over Randolph-Macon, which sent VMI to a 2-0 record on the year. He won a pair of individual events as he took first in the 100-yard freestyle (50.11) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.68) in the Keydets’ meet against Randolph-Macon last weekend. His 1st-place finish in the 100 breast set a new freshman school record. He also was the second leg in the 1st-place 200-yard freestyle relay with a split time of 22.69.
VMI is back in action Friday, taking part in a tri-meet at Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md.
