VMI cross country will return to action, and wrap up its 2016 season, Friday when the Keydets take part in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships. Action at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. gets underway at 11 a.m. with the women's 6K race, while the men's 10K follows at noon. Fans should note that while there is no admission fee, there is a $5 charge for parking.

Ryan Drew

New Distance

This will be the first collegiate 10K for both Drew and Adams, while it will be just the second XC 10K for Broom in his three collegiate seasons. VMI's top runner, coming off a Second Team All-SoCon effort at the conference championship, will look to improve upon his regional finish from last season when he placed just outside the top-100.

Luckett Trying to Complete

On the women's side, freshman Logan Luckett is trying to become the first first-year runner to lead VMI in every event since 2007. Luckett led VMI in back to back 6K's this season at the Paul Short Run and the VertCross Invite.

Russell's Final Run

This will be the final collegiate XC race for Kelly Russell, and interestingly, it will be her first appearance at the NCAA Regionals since her freshman year of 2013.
