2017-18 will be Jamie Beasley's second year as VMI's Assistant Director of Academic Services and Compliance. Beasley also served as the temporary head of the cadet-athlete development office for a brief time in 2016, prior to the hiring of Assistant AD Korey Bruck.
A native of Valdosta, Georgia, Beasley serves as the full time athletic-academic services professional working primarily with Olympic sports. She assists the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services and Compliance in managing all academic service programming for cadet-athletes as well as serving as the departmental liaison with the faculty and academic offices at the Institute.
Beasley is part of VMI maintaining a full commitment to compliance with the NCAA, Southern Conference and Institute rules and regulations in addition to supporting the training and supervision of part-time tutorial and support staff. She also works with the freshman transitional program and at-risk cadet athletes with specific attention to monitoring academic progress, development of learning skills and the development of organizational abilities and educational strategies.
She spent the 2015-16 athletics season as an intern assistant athletic academic advisor at VMI working primarily with the baseball, basketball and football programs. While facilitating group and individual tutoring, Beasley monitored the academic progress and development of learning and life skills for cadet-athletes.
Beasley graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Valdosta State University in December 2013.
Jamie and her husband, Tullis, reside in Lexington with their dog, Fitzgerald.
