The 2016-2017 year will be Meghan Melinchak's third year at VMI as an assistant athletic trainer. Prior to starting at VMI, she worked at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Va. and Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. A native of Export, Pennsylvania, Meghan obtained her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Kent State University and her Masters of Education with a concentration in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia.
Meghan's primary athletic responsibilities include working with the VMI men's and women's cross-country teams, wrestling team and with the men's and women's soccer teams during their spring season. This includes covering all practices, matches, and tournaments.
Meghan is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and is a licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is a member of the McCue Sports Medicine Society and serves as a clinical instructor in Athletic Training with Western Carolina University. She is also an adjunct professor with the Physical Education department at VMI, teaching an introductory sports medicine class.
Meghan currently resides in Lexington, with her dog Sophie.
