VMI Water Polo Defeats La Salle and Siena

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The VMI women’s water polo team swept two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matches Saturday, hosted by St. Francis-Brooklyn.

VMI 11, La Salle 7

Junior Emma Perez had three goals and four assists and senior Sarah Dolitsky posted four goals, an assist and two steals for VMI. Emma Noble scored twice, Makenna Moore had a goal and an assist and McKenna Imset also scored. Junior Isabel French made 16 saves.

Sarah Defuso and Madelyn Koerper each scored twice for La Salle.

VMI 7, Siena 6

The Keydets took a 7-4 lead and held on for the win. French made 13 saves, giving her 29 for the day with just 13 goals allowed. Imset paced the VMI offense with two goals and an assist, and Noble had a goal and two helpers. Genevieve Petrassi tallied a goal and an assist while Zoe Salafatinos, Dolitsky and Kiara Anguiano each had a goal.

The Keydets (16-7/6-3 MAAC) will face Marist at noon on Sunday and St. Francis-Brooklyn at 4:30 p.m.
