Brooklyn hosts VMI Water Polo This Weekend
LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women’s water polo will head back to the New York City area this weekend as the Keydets play four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matches. St. Francis-Brooklyn hosts the eight MAAC teams Saturday and Sunday for 14 total games, two weeks after Wagner College hosted a MAAC weekend on Staten Island.
The Keydets have two matches Saturday against La Salle University (noon) and Siena College (7:30 p.m.) and two more Sunday with #21st-ranked Marist College (noon) and St. Francis Brooklyn (4:30 p.m.).
The MAAC regular-season schedule is at its midway point, and VMI is tied for third place with a 4-3 record. The top four teams make the post-season tournament hosted by Marist in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. April 27-28.
VMI faced the same four teams when the Keydets hosted a MAAC weekend in Clark King Pool March 9-10. VMI defeated La Salle 14-13 and also beat Siena (9-5) and Brooklyn (13-6), and fell 13-5 to Marist.
Live stats are available for all four matches and the match against the host school will be televised on NEC Front Row.
