EDIT: Friday's game was postponed due to exceptionally high winds in the Lexington area. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning Saturday at 1 p.m., with game two to follow shortly after.

VMI baseball will return to action Friday, when the Keydets play host to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies at 3 p.m. Games Saturday and Sunday follow at 2 and 1 p.m. respectively.

How to Follow

Fans can follow along with the action via live stats, as well as periodic updates on the @VMIbaseco Twitter page. That Twitter page will be the first place any schedule changes will be broadcast.

Probable Starting Pitchers

Neither team has announced a pitching rotation at press time.

Leadoff Hitters

The Keydets come in after dropping a 10-9 contest Tuesday at 14th-ranked UVA, a game that saw VMI fall behind 10-1 in the early innings before scoring eight unanswered runs. The Keydets had the tying run at second base with one out in the ninth, but could not complete a near-miraculous comeback.

These will be the first meetings between VMI and Oakland, a Horizon League school out of Rochester, Mich. It will be the first games VMI has played against a school from Michigan since losing to Central Michigan, 15-10, on March 15, 1985. VMI has not hosted a school from Michigan since losing to the Michigan State Spartans, 6-3, in 1956.

Outfielder Matt Pita comes in with an 18-game hitting streak stretching back to last season - The last Keydet on record with a longer streak is Alex Haitsuka, who hit in 19 straight games in 2011.

The Keydets have started the year 3-0 at Gray-Minor Stadium - VMI has not started a season 6-0 at home, a figure it would reach with a sweep of Oakland, since 2010, when the Keydets had a bit of an odd start. The season's first three games that year were played at Prince George, Va., a series VMI swept, and those were recorded as VMI home games - meaning that VMI started 9-0 at home, but only 6-0 at Gray-Minor Stadium.

Next Time Out

The Keydets return to action Tuesday, when they travel to Richmond for a contest against the Spiders. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
