LEXINGTON, Va. - Basketball's Rodney Glasgow has been named the VMI Athlete of the Week, for the time period ending Nov. 30.
In the five games VMI has played over the past two weeks, the freshman point guard has averaged 13.6 points and five assists per contest. He began his run by lighting up UVA-Wise for 23 points, including 4 of 5 from three-point range, and also grabbed five steals. He then struggled against Jacksonville State, but had nine points against Southern Virginia before posting 18 against West Virginia. Glasgow also had three assists and just one turnover against last year's National Semifinalists, as he hit 7 of 13 from the floor.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. native wrapped up his two weeks by posting his first career double-double, a 16-point, 11-assist outing Monday night at Cameron Hall. These efforts have helped VMI to their best start since 1976-77, as the Keydets currently sit at 6-1 overall.
VMI basketball will return to action Thursday night, as the Keydets host Winthrop in the Big South opener for both schools. Game time at Cameron Hall is set for 7 p.m.
