Keydets Prepare for AE Swimming Championships

Lexington, Va. – The VMI men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will compete at the 2019 America East Conference Championships Thursday through Sunday in Worcester, Mass. at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The competition will begin Thursday at 4:30 p.m. with diving events and 6 p.m. with relays. Schools participating in addition to VMI include Binghamton, Maine, New Hampshire, Stony Brook, UMBC and Vermont. New Hampshire won the women’s championship in 2018, edging out UMBC, while the UMBC men captured the team title.

“We’ve been preparing for America East all year, so everyone is really looking forward to the atmosphere, competition, and putting up some fast times for VMI,” said head coach Andrew Bretscher. “As a team, we have been looking quick in the pool the last few days, so I am excited to see how we perform once we kick things off on Thursday.”
