Turbyfill Paces Keydets on Day Two of CCSA's

ATHENS, Ga. - David Turbyfill posted the best 500 free time by a Keydet this season, leading the efforts of the VMI swimming and diving programs on day two of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships, contested Thursday in Athens, Ga.

Turbyfill touched the wall in 4:53.28 to finish 29th overall in the 500 free, and best the previous top Keydet time in the event by over six seconds.

As a team, the VMI men rank eighth in the overall standings (132 points), 20 points behind Howard. UMBC leads Incarnate Word, 550-474.

The Keydet women rank 10th in the standings (74), an event led by Florida Gulf Coast (557.5) and Liberty (459.5).

VMI swimming and diving returns to action Friday, when the CCSA Championships resume at 10 a.m.
