Swimming and Diving Drops Duals to William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The VMI Keydets posted a handful of successful cuts for the upcoming ECAC Championships Saturday, as the swimming and diving programs took on William & Mary in a dual meet. The Keydets dropped both ends of the meet, as the VMI men fell by a score of 167-68 while the women dropped a 166-44 decision.

New cuts that were posted included JT Lancaster and Ryan Schmitz, both of whom made B cuts in the 100 fly. Schmitz, who has qualified in the 50 free, was credited with the top finishing time at 55.23 seconds. Lancaster touched the wall in 55.47 and officially was second.

The 100 free also contained a pair of B cuts, one in both the men's and women's races. Mckenzie Raber hit the B cut on the women's side, touching the wall in 55.65, while Niko Nemceff did so in the 100 free with a time of 48.69.

Other top finishers for VMI included John Kim, who was third in both the men's 100 back (52.13) and 200 back (1:56.78).

VMI swimming and diving will return to action at the CCSA Championships, which the Keydets will contest for the final time beginning on Feb. 18 in Athens, Ga.
