BOSTON, Mass. - Yaa Agyepong-Wiafe finished fourth in the ECAC 60-meter hurdles, while the Keydets placed sixth in the IC4A Distance Medley Relay to lead the VMI track and field programs on the final day of the IC4A/ECAC Championships, contested Sunday in Boston, Mass.
Agyepong-Wiafe crossed the line in 8.62 seconds to record the fourth-place result and equal the highest finish by a Keydet at the ECAC meet since 2012, when Jennifer Sing finished third in the pole vault.
The other Keydet in action Sunday was Kerisha Goode, who finished ninth in the 60-meter dash with a 7.79 time.
On the IC4A side of the meet, the DMR led the way for the Keydets with its sixth-place finish. Luke Phillips, Kevin Bishop, Luke Lysher and Jay Broom teamed up for a 9:55.44 time.
Other IC4A results Sunday included Greg Henderson finishing eighth in the 60 (6.99) and ninth in the 200 (22.02). As a team, the Keydets scored four points in the IC4A meet and five on the ECAC side to finish 38th and 39th respectively.
VMI track and field will return to action March 24, when the Keydets open the outdoor season at South Carolina.
