LEXINGTON, Va. - Returning home to face an undefeated Buffalo squad, the VMI men's soccer team fell by a 2-0 score to the visiting Bulls Friday afternoon at Patchin Field.

The Keydets endured a barrage of Buffalo shot attempts throughout the game as the Bulls outshot VMI by a 10-1 margin in the first half and 11-3 ratio in the second for a 21-4 overall disadvantage.

Buffalo's Braden Scales scored both of the Bulls' goals as he put the first one in midway through the first half (21:22) and the other just 16 seconds into the second half.  Both occurred on breakaway opportunities as he managed to sneak behind the VMI defensive backline and get the ball past keeper Robert Allen.

Jonathan Martinez led VMI's attack with two shot attempts while Sam Moffatt and David Wright each tallied one. The Keydets earned five corner kick attempts during the course of the game but were unable to capitalize.

Robert Allen finished the game with nine saves for VMI while Buffalo's Joseph Kuta earned the win in a shutout effort.

The Keydets have a week of practice before returning to the pitch next Saturday with a road matchup with Gardner-Webb. Kickoff is slated for a 6 p.m. start in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
