VMI track and field will return to action Saturday, when qualified Keydets take part in the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships in Boston, Mass. Action both Saturday and Sunday gets underway at 9:30 a.m.

How to Follow

Fans can follow along with both days of action, as well as the multi events from Friday's proceedings, via live results at

Qualified Keydets

James Granderson - Long Jump

Granderson is perhaps the most surprising Keydet qualifier, having jumped 7.11 meters (23'4") to earn a third-place finish at last week's SoCon Championships. That leap was some half a meter better than his previous lifetime best. This will be his first appearance at the IC4A meet.

Lee Warren - 60-Meter Hurdles

Warren has been perhaps VMI's most consistent athlete all season, running between an 8.25 and an 8.32 in each of his past five finals in the 60 hurdles. He is a four-time IC4A qualifier, but due to injuries, has been unable to compete at an IC4A Championship since March of 2016, when he finished 25th in this very event.

Josh Willard - 800-Meter Run

Willard has been one of the feel-good stories of the indoor season for the Keydets after being overshadowed by other runners earlier in his career. The senior finished second in the 800 at the SoCon meet and also led the DMR to a podium finish.

Andrew Gould - 200-Meter Dash

Gould qualified to the IC4A meet as an individual for the first time with his 22.16 time at the SoCon Championships, an effort that earned him a ninth-place finish.

J. Willard, K. Bishop, J. Shahbaz, M. Ellington - Distance Medley Relay

The unit that will make up VMI's DMR at this meet is yet to be determined, as other runners besides the four qualifiers, including Jackson Betts and Desmond Weinberg-Jones, have traveled to Boston and will provide options for distance coach Dr. Drew Ludtke. The foursome listed here posted a 10:14.92 effort at the SoCon Championships to qualify for the meet.

Kerisha Goode - 60-Meter Dash, 200-Meter Dash

Goode, who earned podium finishes in both of these events at the SoCon meet, was perhaps the standout performer for the Keydets during the indoor season. She broke and rebroke school records in both the 60 and 200, and then went on to secure all-conference honors in both. Goode is scheduled to run only the 200 this weekend.

Bria Anderson - Long Jump, 60-Meter Dash

Anderson qualified in the 60 at the SoCon meet, where she made the finals. She did not score in the long jump, her best event, and will look to avenge that here in her final indoor ECAC meet. She will only enter that event this weekend.

L. Luckett, A. Ruffin, C. Hill, B. King - Distance Medley Relay

It's been a good year for the distance medley relay among the VMI women. Not only did they qualify for the ECAC meet, but they broke one of the longer standing school records still on file, the DMR record set in 2010.

Julia Logan - High Jump, Pentathlon

Logan broke a long-standing school record in the high jump early in the year, and proceeded to equal it again later in the season before breaking in the pentathlon high jump at the SoCon Championships. She posted podium finishes in both events and would likely have made the field in both, but opted to just enter the high jump here.
