LEXINGTON, Va. – With the season just under three months away, VMI head track and field coach Darrin Webb announced his squads’ 2019 schedule.

Utilizing the beautiful Corps Physical Training Facility to the max, the Keydets open the season with three straight home events beginning Jan.18-19 with the Keydet Invitational. A week later VMI will host the VMI Team Challenge and on Feb. 8-9 the VMI Winter Relays.

After competing at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Feb.16-17, the Keydets will host the Southern Conference Indoor Championships for the second straight year which is slated for the Feb. 23-24 weekend.

“This year’s schedule should give our team an outstanding opportunity to be challenged each weekend, and in addition will prepare us for both the indoor and outdoor championships,” Webb said. “We are once again excited about hosting four indoor events in the CPTF, including hosting the SoCon Championships.  We received outstanding responses about last year’s indoor events and we will continue to make improvements that will make this year’s events even better.”

The outdoor season begins Mar. 29-30 with the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina. Four more outdoor events will precede the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships slated for April 27-28 hosted by Samford in Birmingham, Alabama.

The NCAA East Region competition is set for May 23-25 in Jacksonville, Florida, before the NCAA Championships occur June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
