The VMI Strength and Conditioning staff is responsible for the design and implementation of sports specific strength and conditioning programs for all of the Institute’s 18 NCAA athletic teams. In cooperation with the sports coaches, they assist in the Cadet-athletes' athletic development, overall conditioning, and injury prevention.

NCAA Olympic Sports athletic teams train in Cormack Hall. The training facility is over 9,000 square feet in size and features a warm-up and agility area which includes a ten lane straight-away track. There are 18- fully outfitted power racks with inlaid platforms. The room also includes two dumbbell stations, up to 120lbs, and a variety of selectorized machines.

The VMI Football team trains in the Luck Weight Room, located in Clarkson-McKenna Hall, and made possible by the Charles S. Luck family. This weight room is over 3,200 square feet in size and includes 14-power racks with inlaid platforms, a dumbbell station up to 140 lbs, and several selectorized machines.
