Women's Soccer Falls at Manhattan, 3-0

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Erica Modena scored once in each half to lead the Manhattan Jaspers past the VMI Keydets, 3-0, in non-conference women's soccer action Friday night in Riverdale, N.Y.

Modena put Manhattan (2-3-1) up in the 11th minute, when she scored her first goal of the season off an Emma Saul cross in the box. Arianna Montefusco tackled on a 24th-minute score to make it 2-0 at the half, and Modena tacked on the match's final score in the 65th minute. That goal came off a Caleigh Farrell assist.

For the match, Manhattan outshot VMI 22-5 but the Keydets limited the Jaspers to a low shot on goal percentage, as MC had just seven tries on goal. Ceci Keppeler made four saves for VMI, while Kelly DiGregorio had one stop for Manhattan.

VMI women's soccer will return to action Sunday, facing Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md. Opening kick is set for 1 p.m.
