LEXINGTON, Va. - The Saint Francis Red Flash scored four goals in less than 11 minutes, on route to a 4-0 win over the VMI Keydets in non-conference women's soccer action Thursday in Lexington, Va.

Saint Francis (1-3) controlled the tempo for much of the first half, but multiple quality saves by VMI (2-3) goalkeeper Ceci Keppeler - along with six SFU offside violations - kept the Red Flash off the board for much of the period. The home team also had chances, but SFU keeper Julia Hernan made leaping saves on tries by Taylor Callahan (15th minute) and Kiley Cropper (38th minute).

The match stayed 0-0 until the 43rd minute. Camryn Tirado scored off an assist from Alyssa McGhee to make it 1-0, and McGhee added a goal of her own just over a minute later to make it 2-0 going into halftime.

SFU then blitzed the Keydets early in the second half, firing the first seven shots of the period and scoring twice. Tirado added her second goal at 51:50 and current NEC Player of the Year Gabi Morales capped the scoring with a 55th-minute tally to account for the final margin, 4-0.

On the day, SFU outshot VMI 26-9 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Keppeler was credited with 11 saves in the loss, while Hernan made four stops.

VMI women's soccer will return to action Saturday, when the Keydets take on the Longwood Lancers. Game time in Farmville, Va. is set for 2 p.m.
