VMI baseball will return to action Tuesday, when the Keydets play host to Richmond at Gray-Minor Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m. VMI then travels to Williamsburg to face William & Mary Wednesday at 6 p.m.

How to Follow

Both of the contests will be video streamed - Tuesday's game is available free of charge on the SoCon Digital Network, while Wednesday's contest is also free and can be accessed through W&M's Stretch Internet portal (see links to the left of this article). In addition, live stats will be available.

Probable Starting Pitchers

None of the teams had announced a starting pitcher as of 2:20 p.m. EDT on Monday afternoon.

First Words - Game Notes

SS Jacob Jaye made two starts at third base this past week, and it seemed to reinvigorate his bat. Jaye hit .571 in four games last week, including blasting his first home run of the year on Sunday. He enters the UR game on a four-game hit streak.

Catcher Peyton Maddox enters the UR game having reached base in 10 straight games.

Only the leadoff spot in the batting order has been occupied by the same player in each of VMI’s 18 games this season. Matt Dunlevy has led off all 18 games. At least two players have spent time in VMI’s other eight batting order positions, including 10 different players who have hit seventh in the order.

March 17's game against Elon marked the first time that both Tyler Tharp and Will Malbon went hitless in the same game this year - both have been among the conference's leaders in multiple offense statistics all season.

Next Time Out

Following the two midweek games, VMI is back in action Friday against The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.
