LEXINGTON, Va. – After two weeks on the road, the VMI lacrosse team returns to the friendly confines of Drill Field No. 2 where it will face the Jacksonville Dolphins in a Southern Conference battle Saturday at noon.

The Keydets (4-5, 0-4) are coming off a close 13-12 loss at Bellarmine last week, a match that saw the VMI trailing 9-2 at the half before making a furious comeback, falling just short of overcoming the deficit.

Junior attack John Daniel continues to lead the VMI attack as he is now tied for No. 7 in the NCAA for consecutive games with a goal. Daniel has 19 straight games with a goal and has logged 42 goals over this span dating back to March 3, 2018. He scored three goals against Bellarmine on Saturday.

Ryan Perouty is ranked 25th in the NCAA for consecutive games with at least one point as he now has 22 straight games with a point tally (goal or assist). Since Feb. 17, 2018, the sophomore has logged 49 goals and 19 assists for 68 total points.

Senior team captain and defender Kyle Walsh continues to rank first in the nation in caused turnovers per game as he averages 3.44 per game. He has caused 31 turnovers over nine games. John Schmank and Eric Lane are both tied for the No. 20 spot in this category as they average 2.0 caused turnovers per match.
