The Keydets were off last weekend after competing in the All-Academy Championships Saturday, January 26. VMI placed fifth overall, and red-shirt junior Neal Richards was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. Richards won three matches on the day to take the individual title at 174 pounds, pinning #18th-ranked Spencer Carey from Navy in 1:42 in the finals.

Red-shirt junior Dom Gallo (141) and senior Darren Ostrander (157) each finished fourth in their respective weight classes.

F&M defeated VMI last December 25-12 in Cormack Hall. Hunter Starner was one of three Keydet winners, recording a pin with just one second left at 133. The Keydets beat the Diplomats 27-9 in 2015, aided by a pin from Richards at 157 - in the first ever-match at the Pit in Cormack Hall.

Friday’s contest is Senior Night for F&M, where the program’s seven seniors will be honored. The Diplomats host Bloomsburg and George Mason on Saturday.
