VMI Wrestling Team Volunteers at Rockbridge SPCA

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team was active in the community Tuesday, volunteering at the Rockbridge SPCA.

The Keydets worked from 9-11 a.m. after a morning training session. They raked leaves, cleaned up landscaping, swept sidewalks, cleaned up fallen trees on the dog walking path, and walked/socialized some of the rescue dogs.

“Volunteering for a couple of hours was a great experience for our team,” said VMI head coach Jim Gibson. “They worked hard with landscaping, and then got to enjoy sometime walking and playing with rescue dogs.  I think it’s important for us to get out and give back to a local community that does so much to support VMI.”

VMI is home Sunday at 1 p.m., hosting Appalachian State University in a Southern Conference dual meet.
