LEXINGTON, Va. – Hitting the road to resume Southern Conference play, the VMI women’s soccer team heads to Johnson City, Tennessee, for a Friday night tilt with ETSU at 7 p.m. at Summers Taylor Stadium.

The Keydets (6-5-1, 0-5 SoCon) are coming off a tough weekend in which they fell in close matches at home to Wofford and Furman last weekend.
Junior Sierra Brewer leads the VMI attack with five goals on the season in addition to an assist for a team-high 11 points. Blake Cashin, Kiley Cropper and Sam Franklin are tied for second on the squad with three goals apiece while Julianne Knoblett has registered three for the year.
About the Bucs (5-9, 3-2 SoCon)
Facing a difficult schedule, the Bucs got off to a slow start going 1-7 to open the year but have rebounded in league play with a 3-2 record. ETSU has claimed wins over Furman, Wofford and Western Carolina before falling to Samford, 2-1 (OT), and Chattanooga by a 1-0 score last weekend.
Sarah Connolly leads the Bucs with seven goals and Eleonora Goldoni has contributed five. Isabel Hodgson has three to her credit while Fiona Dodge and Rachel Harbin both have two.
Goalie Lea Ann Cutshall has played all but 20 minutes this season and has 81 saves and three shutouts on the season.
