Basketball Heads to UNCG Thursday Night

VMI basketball wraps up a three-game road trip Thursday night in Greensboro, N.C., taking on the UNCG Spartans in a SoCon battle. Tip time is set for 7 p.m., and the game can be see free of charge - with participating provider - on WatchESPN and the ESPN app. In addition, an audio broadcast will be available on 96.7 3WZ in the Lexington area, (search WWZW) and via the Tune-In app, with associated feed on, and live stats can be accessed as well.

Last Time Out - at Samford (1/29/2018):

Sophomore guard Triston Chambers knocked down eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 34 points as Samford snapped a five- game skid defeating VMI, 93-79, Monday night in Southern Conference basketball action at Pete Hanna Center.

The Bulldogs placed five in double figures scoring and received 14-point efforts from Eric Adams, Justin Coleman, and Demetrius Denzel-Dyson. Junior forward Austin Vereen and freshman guard Bubba Parham paced VMI with 18 points each while freshman guard Jordan Ratliffe equaled his career-high with 14 points.

Last Meeting with UNCG (1/6/2018):

Two free throws by Francis Alonso in the waning seconds were the difference, as the UNCG Spartans survived for a 63-61 win over the VMI Keydets in SoCon basketball action Saturday, January 6 at Cameron Hall in Lexington, Va. Alonso led UNCG with 19 points, while James Dickey chipped in 14 and nine rebounds. Bubba Parham led the Keydets with a 19-point afternoon, while Vereen added 14.
