NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Six Keydets were among 221 athletes named to the Virginia Association of Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State team, announced by the organization earlier this week.
To earn VaSID Academic All-State honors, a student-athlete must have achieved at least a 3.25 grade point average and be at least a sophomore. Each school in the state is allowed six nominees. Cabell Willis, who will enter his senior year in the fall, headlined VMI's six selections after a year that saw him sweep the Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards for indoor track, outdoor track and cross country. All told, six different sports were represented by the VMI selections for the squad. The selections and their majors are below.
