CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - VMI outfielder Rob Dickinson, the 2013 Big South Player of the Year, has been named to the All-Atlantic Region First Team by the American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA), according to information released by the organization Monday. Dickinson is believed to be the first player in VMI history to receive First Team All-Region honors from ABCA.

Dickinson had one of the best seasons in VMI history as a senior. He hit .399 after a year that saw him threaten .400 throughout, and finished his career in the program's top 10 in 10 different categories, including hits and total bases. He also finished 2013 with a career-high 15 stolen bases in 20 tries and was VMI's first conference player of the year ever in baseball.

Dickinson joined Mike Papi of Virginia as one of only two state college players named to the First Team All-Region.

The entire all-region team is attached.
