The Keydets enter after falling to Radford 82-79 Wednesday night at Cameron Hall. Stan Okoye had 30 points and 10 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the year, but Javonte Green poured in 20 markers and grabbed 16 boards for RU and scored eight of his team-high 20 points in a 4:16 span late in the second half to help RU survive VMI's final push. The Keydets' D.J. Covington tied the game with two free throws with 3:02 remaining, 74-74, but Radford responded with an 8-2 run to seal the victory and close out its first win over VMI since Feb. 2, 2010.
Last Meeting with Campbell (1/16/2013):
The VMI Keydets outscored the Campbell Camels by 25 points in the second half, shooting 62.5 percent from the field in the process, en route to a 76-57 win in Big South basketball action Jan. 16 at Cameron Hall in Lexington, Va. With the victory, the Keydets won their fifth straight game and move into sole possession of first place in the Big South's North Division. VMI broke the game open with a 13-0 run midway through the second half.
A VMI win against Campbell would:
Tie VMI head coach Duggar Baucom for the most coaching wins in school history (116, see page two).
Mark VMI's first three-game road winning streak since winning four straight games away from Cameron Hall on Dec. 31, 2010 - Jan. 15, 2011.
Move the Keydets to 5-2 all-time against Campbell.
