The Keydets moved to 2-0 in the conference for the first time since 2008-09 behind Stan Okoye's fourth double-double of the year, D.J. Covington's 18 points and four blocks and Rodney Glasgow's 13-point, seven-rebound and seven-assist night. With the teams locked in a back and forth battle, Winthrop's Andre Jones hit a three-pointer to put the Eagles (10-15, 7-7 Big South) up by one with 4:09 remaining, but Stan Okoye fired back with a triple of his own, giving the Keydets (12-11, 7-6) a two-point margin. Gabriel then hit a triple with 2:40 left, stretching the lead out to five, and went on to score the next six Keydet points to help send the 3,665 fans home with a VMI win.

Be the Keydets' third straight win over the Eagles.
