The Keydets are slated to tangle with Kent State University at 11 a.m. on Friday, with the match taking place on Mat 7 at the Hampton Coliseum. The Golden Flashes will be the tournament’s No. 7 seed, while the Keydets enter unseeded.
The winner of the VMI-Kent State match will advance to face the winner of Binghamton University-Virginia Tech. The Bearcats and Hokies also square off at 11 a.m. on Friday. The winners clash at 3 p.m. on Friday on Mat 8 while the losers fall to the consolation side of the bracket for a 3 p.m. match on Mat 7.
The tournament’s eight seeded teams will be Central Michigan (1), Virginia Tech (2), Edinboro (3), University of Virginia (4), Boise State (5), Old Dominion (6), Kent State (7) and Arizona State (8). The unseeded teams will be Rider, North Dakota State, University of Buffalo, Bucknell University, Army, The Citadel and Binghamton.
