VMI basketball begins Big South play Saturday, taking on the Presbyterian College Blue Hose in Clinton, S.C. Tip time is set for 7 p.m., and the game can be heard in the Lexington area on 96.7 3WZ, with an accompanying audio feed accessible at WREL.com and VMIKeydets.com. Fans can also watch the game on the Big South Network presented by State Farm (BigSouthSports.com) and view live stats at VMIKeydets.com, via GoBlueHose.com.

In their last game, the Keydets used a 52-0 advantage in bench scoring, led by a career-high 18 points from Tim Marshall, to propel their squad to a 110-54 win over the Shenandoah Hornets in men's basketball action Wednesday night at Cameron Hall. The 52 bench points were not only the highest total of the year for VMI (5-7), but marked the most since Dec. 10, 2011 against Milligan College, when the Keydets notched 61 markers off the bench. In addition to Marshall's second straight career-high game, Jarid Watson had a career-best 10 points and Dorian Albritton equaled a career-high with 10 markers of his own. The 56-point margin of victory was the seventh-largest in school history.

Last Meeting with Presbyterian College (2/9/2012):
Al'Lonzo Coleman had 26 points and 12 rebounds, and the Presbyterian College Blue Hose shot nearly 60 percent from the field en route to a 94-74 win over the VMI Keydets in Big South basketball action Feb. 9, 2012 in Clinton, S.C. Presbyterian College (11-13, 5-9 Big South) took command early, as after VMI (12-12, 7-7) had an early 6-2 lead, PC scored the game's next 11 points to lead by seven. VMI missed seven straight three-pointers at one early juncture of the contest, helping the Blue Hose out to a lead they would not reliquish for the remainder of the evening.

A VMI win against Presbyterian College would:
Be VMI's first win in a conference opener since 2008-09, a 92-74 win over Winthrop.

Move the Keydets to 3-7 all-time in Big South openers and mark VMI's second conference-opening road win since joining the Big South.

Be VMI's second win in Clinton since the Blue Hose joined the Big South in 2008-09, joining an 80-74 win in 2010-11.
