VMI women's soccer returns to action Thursday, as the Keydets take on the Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern at Patchin Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m., and the match can be seen on the Big South Network. Live stats will also be available, with both links accessible above.

The Keydets (1-9, 0-4 Big South) enter following a tough road trip, having dropped a 4-2 decision to UNC Asheville Thursday and a 4-1 match to Presbyterian Saturday. VMI did, however, show signs of breaking out offensively during the trip, as several position manuevers, including placing Courtney Mason in an offensive role, paid dividends.

Mason scored the first two goals of her career in the UNC Asheville game, becoming the first Keydet freshman to score twice in a game since Amanda Berrios in 2008, and also had three of VMI's six shots on goal in Saturday's loss to Presbyterian. Meanwhile, fellow freshman Meredith Baldasare scored Saturday against Presbyterian, which was her first career score as well.

Charleston Southern, traditionally a Big South women's soccer power, has gone just 2-2 in conference so far this year, and is 4-6-1 overall. CSU is led by Toni Lashley's six goals, while Caitlin Cody has started all 11 games in net, posting a goals-against-average of 1.98. Including Lashley, four different CSU players have scored multiple goals this year.

Following the Thursday contest, VMI women's soccer returns to action Saturday morning, playing host to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
