Sean Doyle enters his first season as the defensive coordinator for the VMI lacrosse program.
Doyle comes to VMI after playing four years with Robert Morris University. While at RMU, Doyle was a four-year starter at the defensive midfield position. Name a team captain as a senior, he helped lead the Colonials to a record of 13-5 and an NEC championship for the first time in program history. They went on to obtain their first ever NCAA tournament win before falling short to No. 1 Maryland, 14-11, in the second round.
During Doyle’s senior campaign, RMU’s defense was ranked fourth in the country (8.0 goals-against average) while achieving the most wins in program history (13). Sean finished his collegiate career being selected to play in the USILA North South Senior All-Star game.
While a student-athlete, Doyle achieved the North East Conference’s Commissioner’s honor roll, was a four-year Dean’s list recipient and a board member of RMU’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Doyle hails from Huntingtown, Maryland, and is a 2014 graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Robert Morris in May of 2018.
