Coach Info:
Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach

James Daugherty was hired in October 2017 as the volunteer assistant coach for the VMI lacrosse team. He will be working primarily with the faceoff unit, running the substitution box and serving as the film coordinator and social media director.

Daugherty joins the staff after spending the last four years at Cannon School, a high school located in Concord, North Carolina.

Daugherty served as the defensive coordinator at Cannon School where they set school records for points allowed and extra man defense efficiency during the 2017 season. That season Daugherty coached one team member to the North Carolina All-State team and three others to All-Conference selections.

A native of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, Daugherty played lacrosse at Bridgewater College during the 2012-2013 season. Due to injury he transferred to University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science in May 2017.
