Basketball Heads to Duquesne Tuesday

VMI basketball resumes play Tuesday evening, when the Keydets travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on Duquesne. Tip time is set for 7 p.m., and the game can be seen on the Atlantic 10’s web site at An audio broadcast can be heard in the Lexington area on 96.7 3WZ - with accompanying feed on, and live stats will be available as well.

Last Time Out - at NC State (11/10/2017):

Kicking off the 2017-18 season on the road against an ACC opponent, the VMI basketball team fell by a 102- 67 score Friday night at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Wolfpack raced out to a 56-34 lead in the first half after shooting 54 percent (20 for 37) from the field including four three-pointers and 12 free throws. The production did not slow much in the second half for NC State as the Pack shot 47 percent from the field and went 10-for-13 from the charity stripe en route to the win.

Last Meeting with Duquesne (3/12/1977):

Ron Carter, Will Bynum and Dave Montgomery combined for 53 of VMI’s 73 points and the Keydets downed Duquesne, 73-66, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament in Raleigh, N.C. The Keydets fell to Kentucky five days later to end their season, meaning that win over Duquesne - the only game the two teams have ever played - remains VMI’s last NCAA tournament victory.
