Women's Soccer Drops 4-0 Contest to Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Abriella Argueta scored a pair of goals to propel the Samford Bulldogs past the VMI Keydets, 4-0, in SoCon women's soccer action Sunday in Birmingham, Ala.

Argueta scored in the 22nd and 48th minutes as Samford (9-5-1, 5-0 SoCon) scored twice in each half to remain undefeated in conference play. Jermaine Seoposenwe added two assists and her ninth goal of the year, while Erin Bonner added the final goal of the contest in the 62nd minute.

In the loss, the Keydets (5-9-1, 2-3-1 SoCon) were outshot 25-6. Ceci Keppeler made eight saves for the visitors, while three Samford keepers combined to stop three VMI shots in a game that was delayed 90 minutes by inclement weather.

VMI women's soccer will return to action October 15, when the Keydets travel to Greensboro, N.C. to take on the Spartans of UNCG. Opening kick is set for 1 p.m.
