Keydets Open 2019-20 Basketball Season at ECU

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking to get the 2019-20 season underway following weeks of training and preparation, the VMI basketball begins the campaign on the road at East Carolina Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Greenville, North Carolina.


The game will be televised on ESPN3 from Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.


The Keydets return three seniors in Garrett Gilkeson, Tyler Creammer and Will Miller as well as a host of regular starters in Myles Lewis, Greg Parham, Jake Stephens. The program also sees a lot of potential in incoming freshmen Louis Tang, Travis Evee, Kamdyn Curfman, Sam Wolfe, Jordan Richeson and Sean Conway.


Gilkeson is the leading scorer returning to the team as he averaged 10.8 points per game a year ago while Myles Lewis returns having averaged 10.5 points per game last season. Greg Parham was a regular starter last year and averaged 7.1 ppg and sophomore Jake Stephens returns with a 7.0 points per game average from his freshman season.


The Pirates finished with a 10-21 record last season and 3-15 mark in the American Athletic Conference.
