VMI Swim and Dive at W&L Saturday for Tri-Meet

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI swimming and diving teams will make a short jaunt across Lexington Saturday to compete in a tri-meet hosted by Washington & Lee University at 1 p.m. Randolph College is the third team in the event.

The Keydets had three student-athletes earn American East Weekly honors, following a highly successful competition Saturday at Old Dominion University. Freshman Stephen Hopta earned Male Swimmer of the Week accolades, junior Calle Biles took home the Female Diver of the Week Award while senior John Reed earned the conference's Male Diver of the Week award.

The Generals defeated VMI last season in both men's (168.5-90.5) and women's (158-68) competition. Both General squads are ranked in the most recent Division III collegeswimming.com poll. Randolph recently brought its swimming program back to varsity status and is in its second season at the Division III level.
