Jacob Jaye's Career Stats

2018: Hit .219 with 39 RBI (seven HR) as a senior...had three hits and drove in two runs in season finale against UNCG...hit ninth for the first times this year in last two games of regular season, responded by going 3 for 7 with a homer and 2 RBI...hit a three-run homer and scored two runs in 5/11 win over Wofford, first homer since March 31...2 for 5 with a 2B and a RBI in middle game of WCU series 4/14...had three walks, two RBI and a run scored in 4/3 win at Longwood...homered and drove in three in 3/31 win over The Citadel...had a homer and a triple in 2 for 6 effort 3/27 vs. Radford...had back to back two hit games 3/25-27...walked three times and stole three bases 3/17 at George Washington...hit a pair of homers in UMass Lowell series 3/9-10...went 2 for 5 with a homer and four RBI against Oakland 3/3...went 7 for 10 in series against Lafayette 2/23-25.

2017: Hit .255 with 11 homers as a junior...first VMI middle infielder to hit double digit homers since 2010 (Spangenberg)...went 2 for 5 with four RBI, including a game-breaking three-run homer off SoCon Pitcher of the Year JP Sears in VMI's win over The Citadel in the SoCon Tournament...also had two hits in tournament win over Wofford...had two hits, including his 10th homer of the season, 5/20 against ETSU - became the third Keydet to hit double-digit homers...reached base five times (three hits and two walks) in 5/14 win at Furman...hit his ninth homer of the year and scored three runs in a 5/6 win over UNCG...homered in back to back games 4/22 (at WCU) and 4/28 (at Radford)...2 for 3 with an HR, three RBI and two runs scored in series finale at WCU 4/22...2 for 5 with his sixth homer of the year 4/13 vs. Mercer...hit four homers in the span of five games 3/28-4/5...posted his first career two-homer game 4/5 vs. ODU...had his first career four-hit game April 2 vs. Samford.
Summer 2017: Played for the Holly Springs Salamanders in the Coastal Plain League.

2016: Finished his sophomore year hitting .228 with four home runs and 16 RBI...one of six Keydets to play in all 56 games, breaking a long-standing program record of 55...made SportsCenter's Top 10 on March 29 for spectacular defensive play against Virginia Tech...reached base four times in five plate appearances in conference tournament loss to The Citadel...had a 15-game hitting streak snapped 5/14 vs. Furman (on-base streak of 23 in a row was snapped the next day)...both streaks were VMI's longest such efforts since 2013...2 for 5 with a double and a RBI 5/13...hit .305 during the month of April with a .434 on-base percentage...went 2 for 4 with a RBI in series finale against Western Carolina 4/10...had single hits in each of the UNCG games 4/1-3...hit 8 for 21 (.381) over six game stretch 3-16/23, including three multi-hit games...opened that run by scoring a career-high three runs in 20-17 comeback win over George Mason 3/16...2 for 3, including his first career home run, in 2/28 win over Lafayette...2 for 5 with a double in 2/20 against Georgetown...206 at-bats fell just five shy of cracking the program's single-season top-10 listing.

2015: Hit .212 in 31 games as a true freshman...had his first collegiate hit 3/8 against Binghamton...over an 11-day span in late March, hit safely in six of seven games (.391) and raised his average over 100 points...was 6 for 11 in 3/27-29 series against Samford...made his first collegiate start at 2B 4/15 against Richmond, as he had previously spent time at shortstop...was on base three times in four plate appearances, including a RBI double, in season-ending loss to The Citadel in the SoCon Tournament where he subbed for an injured Jordan Tarsovich.

High School/Personal: Four-year letterwinner at Millbrook HS...two-time all-district...was the district leader in hits in 2012 and holds the Millbrook school record for most hits in a season...hit .385 with a .500 OBP as a junior...also played for the Richmond Braves travel team, the 2013 Triple Crown National Champions...has made honor roll each year of high school...intends to major in business and economics.
