2011 Game Day Information

Gameday

Make VMI part of your fall football plans.  Parades by the Corps of Cadets begin at 10:30 a.m.  Guests enjoy a morning of tailgating, getting to know friends of their cadet, and catching up with other parents.  Please, do not allow alcohol in the midst of this experience.  Games begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. following a full Corps opening march-on ceremony.   There are five home games in the fall of 2011 - don't miss one.

Be aware that a new traffic light has been installed at the corner of Main and Diamond streets at Cameron Hall.

FAN PARKING: Parking on post during game days will start later than in previous years to ensure the safety of our visitors and parking attendants.  Fans will be permitted to park beginning no earlier than 7:30 a.m.   This includes Parade Ground parking and parking in parking lots.  The only exception is for Oct. 15, Parents Weekend, when parking opens at 7:00 a.m.  No overnight parking is permitted.

At the direction of local law enforcement, fans will not be permitted to line up on Letcher Avenue prior to the opening of parking areas.  Vehicles arriving on post prior to the opening of parking will be directed off post until parking is available.

Restricted Traffic Flow in Front of Barracks - With the installation of security bollards, traffic is no longer allowed in front of Barracks. Please plan accordingly when coordinating pickups and drop offs with your cadet.

Jordan's Point Entrance Closed due to the ongoing construction of the Military Leadership and Field Training Ground project at North Post, the Jordan¹s Point entrance is closed to thru traffic.  Please use the Letcher Avenue entrance when coming onto Post.

RV Parking:  RV parking is not permitted on Post.  RVs are allowed to use the WalMart lot adjacent to Lowes for parking and use the Lowes shuttle service to and from Post.  RV owners are asked to park in the back of the lot (adjacent to the Goodwill Donation Building).  If the lot becomes crowded, WalMart management reserves the right to ask RVs owners to relocate.

REMOTE PARKING: Off-post parking for fans this year will be at the Lowe's parking lot.  A shuttle service will run continuously from 9 a.m. to after the end of the game.  Lowes is located at 1255 N. Lee Highway, Lexington, Va. 24450.  Click here for driving directions.
