Robarge Takes Division I Lead in Face-Off Percentage

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI lacrosse's Stephen Robarge has taken the Division I lead in face-off percentage, according to the latest rankings released by the NCAA Monday afternoon.

Robarge's 16 for 18 outing at the X Saturday against Saint Joseph's gave him a 63.8 success rate for the year, moving him from fifth to the top of the rankings. The sophomore leads Jeremy Thompson of Syracuse by less than a percentage point, as Thompson has won exactly 63% of the Orange's draws in 2010. As a team, VMI is second nationally in face-off percentage, trailing only Hartford at 61.9%.

In addition, Robarge moved into sole possession of second place in ground balls per game, as he has grabbed 8.09 per contest. That places him .71 behind the Division I leader, Tim Fallon of Hartford.

VMI lacrosse will return to action Saturday, April 17 as the Keydets travel to Loudonville, N.Y. to take on the Siena Saints in a MAAC contest. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
