Patchin Field (Home of VMI Soccer)
VMI's soccer home games are played within the friendly confines of Patchin Field, which is located to the north of Institute Hill and built over the top of Woods Creek.
In 1994, a central irrigation system was installed at Patchin Field, vastly improving the quality of the natural grass playing surfaces. Plans are in the works to expand the facilities at Patchin Field, further enhancing the experience VMI is able to offer its cadet-athletes.
Patchin Field is named after Herb Patchin, who was an athletic trainer at VMI for 34 years.
