The VMI men's soccer team will travel to Clinton, S.C. to face Presbyterian College Saturday in the regular season finale for both clubs. Game time is set for 7 p.m., and live stats will be available in addition to a Big South Network video stream. Links to both are located above. Fans should note that the availability of the Big South Network stream is subject to change.
VMI enters the game coming off a disappointing 2-0 loss to Liberty Monday in Lynchburg. Brian Sowell made eight saves in the second half to keep the game close, but the Keydets could not overcome being outshot 26-8 in the contest. The setback assured VMI of the #8 seed in the upcoming Big South tournament, which will be held Nov. 12-15 in High Point, N.C. VMI's opponent will be determined Saturday, as Coastal Carolina faces Radford. If the Chanticleers win, they will be the tournament's top seed and will face VMI. Should Coastal Carolina lose or tie against the Highlanders, the Keydets would face current #1 team High Point.
Presbyterian continues to not be eligible for the conference tournament, but Saturday's contest will count in the final conference standings. The Blue Hose are currently 1-4-2 in the Big South and 2-11-2 overall. PC's wins this season include a 1-0 shutout of Radford and 3-2 win over Georgia State, while the Blue Hose have tied UNC Asheville and potential regular season champion Coastal Carolina in conference action.
